"Carried Worlds", 2025, Make Shit Happens Exhibition

This artwork examines how identity shifts and evolves through the experience of migration. The painting represents the inner world, the psychological, emotional, and political body that carries memory and history across borders. Three figures illustrate different phases of the migrant journey. The left figure reflects the moment of departure, holding the weight of memories symbolized by birds and a home. The middle figure represents adaptation, where identity begins to transform in response to a new environment. The lotus and growing plants express renewal, learning, and the ability to take root again. The right figure reveals the impact of geopolitical forces, borders, policies, and conflict that are shown through cracks and fragmented maps that shape the migrant’s reality. The landscape reinforces this narrative: mountains and hills echo the emotional ups and downs of displacement, while the flowing blue stream symbolizes the continuous journey through past, present, and future.

Projection mapping adds a second layer, showing the outer, social world. It introduces three ideas: connection, preservation, and consumption. Connection reflects community support; preservation shows cultural survival through shared language, food, and rituals; and consumption reveals how new environments reshape habits, tastes, and identity. Together, the painting and projection exists on two layers: the inner transformations that happen inside the self, and the outer influences that come from the community. Migration becomes a journey where identity keeps moving, adapting, and finding new ways to belong.

"Frida Kahlo" 2024

This work is inspired by Frida Kahlo and how she redefined femininity on her own terms. I’ve always admired the way she embraced what made her different, her unibrow, facial hair, traditional clothing, and used it as a form of self-expression and cultural pride.

Her flower-adorned hair and strong personal style showed that being feminine doesn’t have to fit into one mold. It can be bold, quiet, strong, messy, or beautiful in its own way. This piece reflects that idea: that femininity is personal, powerful, and doesn’t need anyone’s approval.

This piece, symbolizing spiritual balance, unity, and transformation. Drawing from traditional Hindu iconography, the painting blends classical elements—like Shiva’s third eye and Shakti’s vibrant energy—with a contemporary use of color and form.

The golden mandala and lotus pond reflect enlightenment and serenity, while the soft pastel background evokes a transcendent atmosphere. This work honors Hindu spirituality through a modern lens, offering a visual meditation on harmony, divine connection, and the cycles of life.

Fabric Painting

This project is a personal homage to the rich and vibrant culture of the Chin people of Myanmar. Inspired by the intricate textile traditions, distinctive landmarks, and meaningful emblems of Chin State, I created this hand-painted tote bag as a canvas to celebrate and share their visual language with care and respect.

"In the Flow", 2023 is a small series of acrylic paintings where I tried to capture quiet, peaceful moments around water. Each piece (whether it’s ducks gliding across a pond, dolphins swimming through coral, or koi drifting among lily pads) reminds me of the calm I feel when I pause and really take in nature. I’ve always found water to be grounding. It moves, but it’s also still. That contrast is something I wanted to reflect through these scenes. These paintings are really about slowing down, paying attention to simple things, and letting the quiet moments speak for themselves.

This commissioned, experimental acrylic painting is my tendencies towards design putting through my artwork, which is basically inspired by genuine friendship. I abstracted and designed it from a reference photo I found on Pinterest. I included a hand holding a yellow alstroemeria for my idea of joyful and optimistic symbol.

This experimental digital painting is inspired by Vangoh’s painting techniques. I painted this beacuse I realize that there is no perfection. I think everyone fakes their confidence till they make it though they have insecurity. People don’t want to show how exactly they feel, the reason may be fear of acceptance. It is the constant pressure of being social that we are judging with. So they make another face to accept them. They have their images in their mind that they strive to achieve.
