“Guided Growth”, 2024

Medium -Mixed Media on Three-Panel Canvas

[Surreal Library Art Exhibition, 2024]

This work reflects the profound struggle between societal expectations and the raw, natural self. Drawing from the challenges of life and the place I come from, it communicates moments of feeling exposed, restricted, or trapped yet still finding the potential for growth and beauty. The use of nudity symbolizes authenticity and vulnerability, representing the human spirit stripped of societal constructs and returned to its essence. It echoes our resilience in the face  of political, social, and economic limitations. Just as the artwork seeks to bloom despite constraints, so too do the Burmese people continue to thrive and express our identity through cultural traditions and their enduring spirit. This piece is a tribute to that resilience, creating how even under the weight of challenges, there is beauty in embracing one’s authentic self and finding ways to grow.
